Kingsbury County approves $53,915 engineering estimate to ready Manchester bridge for BIG grant

The Kingsbury County Board on April 21 approved a $53,915.55 estimate from Civil Design, Inc. to prepare bridge No. 39-070-041 (north of Manchester) to bid-ready status so the county can apply for a BUILD/Bridge Investment Grant (BIG).
Highway Superintendent Dave Sorenson presented the estimate and the board voted to accept the quote (motion by Troy Nelson, second by Steve Spilde). The motion carried with all present voting aye. County staff said making the bridge project bid ready is a prerequisite to applying for a BIG grant.
The action authorizes the expenditure to advance engineering necessary for state/federal grant applications; the county did not attach additional funding sources to cover the engineering cost in the minutes.
