Kingsbury County approves 2026 sheriff contracts and inmate housing at $105 per day

Sheriff Steve Strande presented several law-enforcement contracts and the board approved all three during the Jan. 6, 2026 session. The board approved the 2026 contract law agreements with the City of Lake Preston and with the City of De Smet and authorized the chairman to sign both contracts.
The board also approved an inmate housing contract with Beadle County at a rate of $105.00 per day. Each motion was made and carried by voice vote with the commissioners present voting aye.
