Kingsbury County keeps same depositories and official newspapers for 2026

The Kingsbury County Board reviewed its list of authorized depositories and voted on Jan. 6, 2026 to retain the existing banks used by the Treasurer’s office, including American Bank & Trust (De Smet and Iroquois branches), Citizens State Bank, CorTrust Bank (Arlington), and First National Bank branches in Oldham and Lake Preston. The board noted that while county policy contacts main branches for CD rates, no single bank is guaranteed to hold county funds and Treasurer Michelle Longville said she secures three quotes per policy.
The board also voted to keep The Kingsbury Journal and The Arlington Sun as the county's official newspapers for public notices and publications. Both motions carried by a voice vote of the commissioners present.
