County staff and contractor outline landscaping plans; MAC asks for pesticide/herbicide reports in packets

Joan Araujo from Ventura County Public Works and Alyssa from Mariposa Landscapes presented options for irrigation, pine needle cleanup, tree-removal analysis and cost-saving approaches for the Kanan Road 'Welcome to Oak Park' monument plantings. Discussion included alternatives and costs for more frequent pine-needle removal and monument planting maintenance.
Chair Brian Trushinski noted that "it is State law that all commercial businesses that use pesticides/ herbicides must complete and submit monthly written reports of all applications to the Ventura County Agricultural Commissioner’s Office" and requested that County Public Works provide those reports to Supervisor Gorell’s office so they can be included in MAC packets. Crystal Stratton from Supervisor Gorell's office agreed to arrange this. The minutes also record that $40,000 previously allocated to Green Streets will be reallocated to CSA4 in the next budget cycle.
