Kingsbury County adopts Criminal History Record Information policy with storage change

Human Resources Consultant Jessica Bingham returned to the Board with a revised Criminal History Record Information (CHRI) policy that changed the specified storage location for CHRI records to a locked file cabinet. Auditor Echo Steffensen had previously noted personnel files were in a locked cabinet but not in the vault, and Bingham made the change before resubmitting the policy.
The Board adopted the CHRI Records Policy as amended (motion by Corey Lundquist, second by Troy Nelson); all present voted aye. Bingham also reminded the Board about a meeting next week related to a union issue.
The new CHRI policy formalizes how criminal history information is stored and handled in county personnel files and assigns responsibility for compliance to the Human Resources consultant and the Auditor's office.
