The Kingsbury County Board on March 3 authorized Auditor Echo Steffensen to sign as the Subrecipient Authorized Representative (SAR) for the Kingsbury County KBRW Lake Preston Generator grant award.
Steffensen requested the authorization and Commissioners Troy Nelson and Corey Lundquist moved and seconded the action respectively; the Board voted unanimously to grant her authority. The authorization enables the county to complete required administrative steps tied to the generator grant.
Separately, the Board removed a burn ban the county had placed on Feb. 17, 2026. Commissioner Nelson moved to lift the burn ban, Commissioner Lundquist seconded, and the motion carried unanimously. The removal restores permitted open burning consistent with applicable county and state regulations.
