The Kingsbury County Board on Jan. 20 approved the county's 2026 union contract and authorized wage adjustments for covered highway positions retroactive to Jan. 1, 2026.
The board recorded specific hourly rates in the motion: Highway Foreman $26.16; Highway Shop Foreman/Mechanic $25.14; Highway Operator $25.17; Heavy Equipment Operator $23.97. Commissioner Troy Nelson moved approval and Commissioner Corey Lundquist seconded; "all present voting aye," and the motion carried. The wage adjustments were implemented as part of the approved collective bargaining terms and will be applied retroactively to the start of the year.
County staff will process payroll adjustments and apply the revised rates to upcoming pay cycles.
