Meeker PWA hires Dan Clay, plans wastewater repairs and meter conversions using COEDD/REAP funds

Town Administrator Jeff Wilbourn told the Meeker Public Works Authority that Dan Clay has been hired and is in his second week, and that Clay's prior experience with the town's water system has been helpful. Wilbourn said the wastewater plant needs work to replace aging valves and components that are difficult to isolate, and the Town is proceeding with necessary repairs.
Wilbourn also reported that PWA staff are replacing older brass meters that are manually read and working toward converting meters to a cellular/cloud-based system to allow electronic readings and customer access to usage alerts. He said COEDD/REAP grant funding of approximately $90,000 will be used for meter parts and replacements and is expected to bring the town close to converting about 50% of its roughly 400 meters over the coming years.
