PWA Clerk Jody Vaughn and Town Administrator Jeff Wilbourn reviewed current PWA deposit rates (owner $75, renter $150, business $100) and noted the minimum monthly water bill is $77.50; with a $20 late fee a delinquent account could total $97.50, which exceeds the current owner deposit. Trustees discussed business deposit impacts and the distinction between "residential" and "owner" deposit terminology and agreed to place all deposit categories on the March agenda for further review.
Trustee Donna Weber moved, seconded by Kenneth Massey, to increase the owner residential deposit from $75 to $100. The motion passed with Yea votes from Thompson, Massey, Head and Weber. Staff will update billing and public notices as needed.
