Board approves surplus of multiple town vehicles, preserves one truck for repair

Administrator Wilbourn presented a handwritten list of vehicles the town recommended for surplus, including an inoperable fire engine with a failed transfer case and PTO, a Ford Explorer Sport Trac to be scrapped, a Chevrolet Impala, a Chevrolet Kodiak with the tanker removed, a Dodge Dakota and two older Chevrolet pickup trucks. He said VIN numbers are available for all vehicles "except the fire engine, which he can obtain if required prior to surplus."
Trustee Lanny Thompson moved, seconded by Trustee Kennth Massey, to surplus the first seven listed vehicles but not the operable Dodge 3500; the motion carried with Yea votes from Thompson, Massey, Head and Weber. Staff will proceed with disposal or sale procedures for the surplused units and will obtain missing VIN information if needed.
