School officials report completed gate, new marquee and pending fire-alarm upgrade

Facilities manager Francisco Carmona updated the board on a series of completed and planned facility improvements at Rockford School, including a newly installed digital marquee, an upgraded entry gate and a completed remodel of the Food Service Office.
Carmona said the digital marquee was installed by NTM and that the installer will return for a follow-up review. He reported the gate upgrade includes a redesigned push bar to limit wear and an upgraded camera to improve visibility; the change is intended to control visitor access while allowing safe student access to an outdoor portable. Carmona also recommended a fire-alarm system with an estimated cost of $6,000. "I have a strong recommendation for a fire alarm system from a company I am currently evaluating, with an estimated cost of $6,000," Carmona reported.
Pat Hunt Construction completed a Food Service Office remodel that doubled office space and added a mini-split heating and cooling system, new flooring and lighting. Administrators discussed a new game-day visitor and student protocol that will be presented next month and added to the student handbook next year.
