The Rockford School Board voted to approve an update to the school modernization plan, authorizing contractors to begin coordinated electrical and construction work.
At the Oct. 9 meeting, Director of Pupil Services Daniel Chand told the board that Triton will coordinate necessary electrical work with Edison and that American will begin the project’s first phase. Chand also noted that Joseph from Triton Consulting will attend the November board meeting to provide further details. The motion to approve the modernization update passed with AYES from David Gisler and Bill Walker.
Why it matters: the modernization work will touch campus electrical systems and building improvements that affect operations and future capital planning. Board approval signals the district’s move from planning to initial implementation, and staff committed to report back at the next meeting with contractor updates and timing.
What’s next: Triton and Edison will finalize electrical scopes; staff said a Triton consultant will present at the November meeting for follow-up and scheduling.
