Director of MOT Francisco Carmona proposed installing a secured entry gate around the portable classroom outside the main campus to allow safe student access and enable staff to deliver services in the portable without students needing to exit and re-enter through the main gate. Carmona also reported a consultant's recommendation to evaluate adding additional fire alarm pull stations and sirens across campus to improve alarm coverage.
Director of Pupil Services Daniel Chand reported work has begun on the district’s digital marquee, with electrical and fabrication tasks in progress and mounting expected the following week. Carmona tabled a proposed Maintenance Shop Extension to the next meeting until vendor quotes are available.
The board approved other specific vendor estimates and contracts related to facilities in separate agenda items; the gate and maintenance shop extension were not finalized at this meeting.
