The Recreation Commission reviewed revised specifications for the Michael J. Tighe (MJT) basketball court renovation, which now call for a new concrete court system. According to the meeting record, the upgraded design includes a 50-year warranty and a 10-year warranty against cracking intended to extend the courts' usable life and reduce maintenance needs.
Commission members were also informed that a new tennis pavilion has been installed; staff noted the pavilion has a smaller footprint but provides shade and seating for players and spectators. Remaining work on the pavilion includes installation of the concrete pad, which staff described as pending in the project schedule.
