District reports preliminary CAASPP and ELPAC results and EL counts

Superintendent Caron Borba reported preliminary results from the CAASPP statewide assessments and ELPAC English-language proficiency testing. Parents have received preliminary results by mail and the district expects to release final results within the next few months.
At the meeting staff reported that the district has 41 English Learner (EL) students and 13 students who have been reclassified and are now considered fluent in English. The superintendent also noted the ASES grant will be presented to the board next month.
Board members did not take further action on testing results at the meeting; staff will return with final scores and any recommended responses once the state releases verified results.
The district emphasized that parent-teacher conferences at the start of the year were productive and that assessment information will guide instructional planning once final scores are available.
