The comment came at the start of the meeting during the public-comment period. The district later noted that staff had conducted active shooter training for employees and that parents had been notified about safety procedures as part of the opening-of-year communications.
The superintendent also advised that any changes tied to state law would be reviewed with legal counsel as needed before policy updates or new purchases are enacted.
