The Freehold Township Historic Preservation Commission reported during its July 20 meeting that the owner of the landmarked Parker, Clayton, Borga Farm offered the property to the township for $800,000 and that the township declined the asking price. The minutes describe the barn as down and in need of removal; the owner reportedly received insurance proceeds for the barn collapse and for two separate incidents in which vehicles struck the house but has not completed repairs since 2025.
The minutes state the property is landmarked by the township and listed on the State of New Jersey Register of Historic Places; the house dates from about 1850 and any rebuild would have to match the 1911 construction method if the owner seeks to rebuild. Code Enforcement has visited the site several times; the owner is responsible for removing the barn and its contents and for proposing a revised sale price if the owner wishes to transfer the property to the township.
