Residents urge stormwater repairs near Lake 8; board to consider in FY2025/26 budget

At the Jan. 28 meeting of the River Ridge Community Development District, resident Rich Batterberry urged the board to address chronic pooling near the Lake 8 monument and requested work similar to recent repairs in the Seaside neighborhoods. Batterberry said residents are concerned that "the rainwater that pools from the monument to halfway down Lake 8" is slow to recede and that at least one homeowner has incurred significant costs to mitigate water coming up through a floor.
District Engineer Charlie Krebs reviewed the Seaside scope and said the Lake 8 issues could likely be addressed by completing similar regrading and shoreline work. Chair Bob Schultz told attendees the board would consider the matter during the Fiscal Year 2025/2026 budget process. The report back to the board and any budget allocation are to be decided as part of that process.
