CDD files Lee County NPDES Cycle 4 Year 7 Annual Report for submission to FDEP

Johnson Engineering staff reported Lee County reviewed and approved the Cycle 4 Year 7 NPDES report (FLS000035-004); the District will file it with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection before the Nov. 1, 2024 deadline and continue into Year 8 while the new permit timing remains unclear.
Mark Zordan of Johnson Engineering presented the Lee County NPDES Permit FLS000035-004 Cycle 4 Year 7 Annual Report to the Board. He reported Lee County reviewed and approved the report and it will be submitted to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in advance of the Nov. 1, 2024 deadline.
Mr. Zordan told the Board there is no definitive schedule for the new permit and staff were instructed to continue reporting into Year 8; a Johnson Engineering representative attends bi-monthly Lee County NPDES meetings and forwards minutes to the District Manager. The Board and staff discussed possible future changes to water-sampling requirements and whether stormwater ponds are subject to the same standards as natural lakes.
