Board authorizes RG Architects via Bowman to redesign two gatehouses, citing recurring truck strikes

Eric Long presented RG Architects, P.A.'s fee proposal to redesign two gatehouses and update related complex features. He said the buildings will receive a "facelift" rather than demolition and that the main gate needs to be removed and redesigned because it has been hit 12 times this year. The Board discussed elevation certificates, permitting, zoning, construction timing and whether monuments proposals should be subcontracted.
The Board considered booking the $62,500 expenditure as a reimbursable deferred cost to be invoiced when the CDD issues financing; design and permitting are estimated to take 12–18 months. On motion by Mr. Blumenthal and seconded by Mr. Mountford, and "with all in favor," the Board authorized Bowman to retain RG Architects as a subconsultant under standard Bowman terms and authorized the Chair to execute documents after review by District Counsel and the District Manager.
