River Ridge accepts resignation of Supervisor James Gilman; vacancy to be publicized

The River Ridge Community Development District accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term expiring Nov. 2026) on Aug. 27, 2024. Mrs. Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter; the Board discussed outreach to The Meadows and plans to solicit resumes and letters of interest before the next meeting. On motion by Mr. Kurt Blumenthal and seconded by Mr. Robert Twombly, the resignation was accepted unanimously.
Mrs. Adams told the Board that because the seat is an appointment to fill the unexpired term rather than an election, staff will ask Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager to e-blast residents with candidate qualifications and application instructions. The Board requested interested candidates submit resumes or letters of interest for consideration at the next meeting.
