Beecher board adopts FY2025/26 budget and appropriation ordinance after public hearing

The Village of Beecher Board of Trustees adopted the fiscal year 2025/26 budget following a public hearing held April 28, 2025. Administrator Charity Mitchell presented highlights of the proposed budget during the hearing, which opened at 6:09 p.m. and closed at 6:16 p.m. with no public comments.
Trustee Kraus moved to adopt Resolution #2025-03 and Trustee Stacey seconded. The board also approved Ordinance #1421, the appropriation ordinance matching the budget authorization. Both measures passed unanimously on recorded votes of six ayes and zero nays. The board earlier approved payment of bills and payroll in the amount of $443,854.41.
President Meyer noted changes to the Youth Commission line in the budget and referenced other commission budget adjustments during the presentation by Administrator Mitchell. The adoption puts the Village on record with budgeted appropriations for the coming fiscal year; the ordinance and resolution were formally recorded in the meeting minutes.
