Loami board adopts FY2025–26 appropriations ordinance amid questions about police payroll

Police Chief Stan Workman said the increase is to add more day-shift hours and to increase officer pay and noted that "Officer Robinson who works day shifts will be retiring and Chief wants to hire another officer when Officer Robinson retires." Mayor Steven Lambert subsequently stated that "no officers will be hired to replace Officer Robinson," a point of divergence in the discussion. Trustee Aaron Pippin asked why the legal budget increased; Mayor Lambert attributed the rise to onboarding a new village attorney and to legal issues the village encountered.
