Selectboard hears Better Back Roads grant repairs on Whitney Hill, discusses town garage

Vice Chair Mike McPhetres told the Selectboard the town secured a Better Back Roads grant to replace culverts on Whitney Hill and Rogers Road and that 1,000 yards of material have been trucked in by Chase to support the work. The board also discussed ongoing planning for the town garage with the architect as part of regular road maintenance oversight.
Grant-administration business continued later in the meeting: McPhetres signed two documents brought by the Grant Administrator, and Brenda Field informed the board that the BRIC grant might be renewed. If BRIC funding becomes available, the town would seek grants for a second slide-related project, per Field’s update. The board did not take final grant-related votes during this meeting.
