Mayor Steven Lambert reported that Chief Workman, Clerk Carissa Grider and Trustee Rose Mann reviewed the village’s ordinance-violation process and recommended several changes, including adjusting the fee schedule, improving follow-up on violations, enhancing communication between the chief and clerk, removing the option that reduced fees if paid within 10 days, and extending the timeframe to correct violations to 14 days.
Lambert said the village will begin educating the community and add more information about violations to the village website. No ordinance was adopted at the meeting; the item was discussed as operational direction and public-education planning.
