Kathy Garner, president of the Loami Food Pantry, asked the Village of Loami board on Nov. 14 for permission to paint a mural on the pantry building and said she had contacted New Berlin High School's art teacher about student participation in spring 2025. Garner told the board, "The Loami Food Pantry served 43 people on November 13, 2024." Village Attorney Anthony Schuering advised that the board would need to place the mural request on the December 2024 agenda for a formal vote.
Mayor Steven Lambert asked Garner to bring annual statistics showing how many families or individuals the pantry serves each year. Garner said she would provide those figures at a future meeting. No formal vote on the mural took place on Nov. 14; the board was advised to take action at the December meeting if it wishes to approve the project.
