Selectboard adopts Local Emergency Management Plan to enable FEMA reimbursement

The Tunbridge Selectboard voted to adopt the town’s Local Emergency Management Plan (LEMP) during its April 28 meeting so the document can be submitted to Vermont Emergency Management and support FEMA reimbursement. Brenda Field and James McGuire presented the LEMP form and asked the board for approval.
Vice Chair Mike McPhetres moved to adopt the LEMP, John O’Brien seconded, and the minutes record “All aye. So moved.” The adoption was recorded as a formal motion to allow state and federal agencies to process potential disaster-recovery support for the town.
The move enables Tunbridge to pursue FEMA reimbursement tied to the town’s emergency planning. The board held a separate but related vote to accept a Hazard Mitigation Plan for submission to the state (see related article). The meeting minutes list attendees present when the vote was taken.
