“President Monica Beltramea asked for a motion to approve the recommended fees for 2026-2027,” which included the driver education increase and a $40 activity fee per activity, capped at $80 per student and $120 per family, the board packet stated. The motion, made by Bill and seconded by Baugh, passed on a roll call vote 4–3. Board members Beltramea, Youngman, Baugh and Bill voted yes; Damerell, Schumacher and White voted no.
Supporters said the structure was intended to standardize participation costs and maintain program funding; dissenting members recorded concerns during the roll call. The fees policy includes provisions for students eligible for free or reduced-price services to pay at the appropriate reduced rate. The board did not reverse or amend the motion after the vote. The action now stands as the district’s adopted fee structure for 2026–27.
