Lowpoint-Washburn board reviews $4.06 million levy at short hearing

Dr. Johnson provided the levy breakdown: Educational $2,751,441; Operations and Maintenance $479,418; Transportation $166,754; Working Cash $41,688; Municipal Retirement $58,364; Social Security $100,053; Fire Prevention and Safety $41,688; Tort Immunity $350,183; Special Education $33,351; and Leasing $41,688. The minutes state there was no public input during the hearing.
The Levy Hearing adjourned at 6:53 p.m. on a motion by Baugh and second by Youngman. Roll call recorded all present voting yes and one member absent. The board noted a Truth in Taxation meeting will be held in December prior to the regular board meeting to continue levy discussions and required public notice.
Next step: the Truth in Taxation hearing is scheduled to precede the Dec. 17, 2025 board meeting, where the board will take action on levy-related items.
