At its Oct. 21 meeting, the Santa Fe South Schools board approved several policy measures addressing student devices, attendance and campus safety. The board approved a high school cellphone policy (moved by Dr. Ed Frick, seconded by Vicky Primeaux) and a school attendance policy (moved by Rosy Trujillo, seconded by Vicky Primeaux); both motions passed 5-0.
The board also approved a district visitor management policy after Superintendent Chris Brewster read and described the proposal. Separately, the board approved amendments to the Minute of Silence and Voluntary Prayer Policy and to the Restrooms and Changing Areas Policy; the minutes state those sections were amended to meet recommendations from the state department. All policy motions carried by recorded 5-0 votes.
