Resident requests permission to move semi-trailer and seeks help for sinkhole

Jason Combs addressed the Village of Loami board during the visitors portion to request permission to move a semi-trailer currently on his father’s Elm Street property to his Main Street property so he can "remove and scrap the trailer" there.
Trustee Greg Patterson said the move would likely require a variance from the village ordinance. Mayor Steven Lambert told Combs he would look into the variance process and follow up. Combs also reported a sinkhole on the south side of his home that he said had been struck by a fiber company; Combs said the company "stated they would fix it but they have not fixed it" and asked the village to help repair the hazard. Trustee Patterson said the village needs to assess the situation and the board will get back to Combs with next steps.
The board did not take formal action at the Sept. 12 meeting beyond directing staff to review permitting and the potential variance process; any variance or repair work would require follow-up and, if applicable, formal approvals.
