The Village of Loami board voted to adopt Ordinance 2024-05, "An Ordinance for the Levy and Assessments of Taxes for the Village of Loami, Illinois, for the Fiscal Year Beginning May 1, 2024, and Ending April 30, 2025." Trustee Greg Patterson moved for approval and Trustee Jay Branson seconded; the ordinance passed on a roll-call vote with six trustees voting yes and Trustee Rose Mann voting no.
The levy vote was the most contested item on the Oct. 10 agenda. Mayor Steven Lambert called the vote after discussion and procedural motions. The ordinance takes effect according to the statutory timetable for municipal levies; no specific tax-rate language beyond the ordinance title was recorded in the meeting minutes. The board scheduled no additional public hearing at the Oct. 10 meeting regarding the levy.
