Michael Duell, speaking for the Mad River Path, reported the Town of Warren has supported a match for Phase 1 (Ellen Lane to Riverside Park) and the project team is applying to the VTrans Bike & Pedestrian program for a $1.2 million grant. "We are going and applying for the grant to the V-Trans Bike and Pedestrian program for $1.2 million," he said.
Duell said VTrans is nearly finished reviewing the scoping report and the project team will meet on Aug. 13 to review VTrans comments. The team has hired engineering firm Dubois and King to prepare a colocation construction budget and is coordinating with the Waitsfield wastewater team to determine pathway location and costs. A public meeting to review VTrans comments is planned for September.
The Mad River Path update was provided as a liaison report; commissioners were asked to note the upcoming public meeting and the ongoing coordination with neighboring towns and grant administrators.
