The Langley Main Street Association presented its downtown revitalization work plan to the City Council on Feb. 18, outlining initiatives in design, economic vitality, outreach and promotion. Executive Director Allison Gubata and Association President Tim Callison described recent accomplishments, including completion of Phase II of the Frick Lane placemaking project and community events that, they said, have increased engagement.
The presenters gave specific figures to illustrate capacity: volunteers contributed 1,164 hours in 2024, and fundraising exceeded the 2024 goal by $23,000. Gubata closed the presentation by urging continued city collaboration and grant pursuit, saying, "Langley's future is bright!" The group also listed next steps including investigation of grant opportunities and continued collaboration on public spaces.
