Langley council announces liaison assignments to commissions and regional bodies

At a Jan. 13 special meeting, the Langley City Council announced liaison assignments to city commissions and several regional boards. Councilmember Harolyn Bobis will serve on the Climate Crisis Action Commission with Councilmember Rhonda Salerno as the alternate; Bobis will also serve on the Dismantling Systemic Racism commission. Chris Carlson and Rhonda Salerno were listed for the Finance and Personnel Legislative Commission, Gail Fleming for Parks and Open Space and the Planning Advisory Board, and Craig Cyr for the Public Works Advisory Commission. Several seats were left unfilled: no liaisons were named for the Historic Preservation Commission or Cemetery Commission.
The council also named representatives to outside bodies: Craig Cyr to Island Transit; Harolyn Bobis to the Fairgrounds Advisory; Chris Carlson to the Economic Development Council and Chamber of Commerce; the mayor to the Whidbey Camano Islands Tourism Board. The assignments set who will represent the city in upcoming commission work and external coordination. No vote or dissent was recorded in the minutes.
