Taloga Board interviews superintendent candidates and tables contract decision

The Taloga Board of Education convened a special meeting on March 5, 2025, to interview applicants for the 2025–26 superintendent position and ultimately postponed any contract decision. President Justin Fox called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. in the Board Conference Room and Superintendent’s Office at Taloga High School, 500 West Ruble, Taloga, Oklahoma.
After the agenda was approved by unanimous vote, the board moved into executive session at 6:31 p.m. to conduct candidate interviews. The minutes record that Principal Cherice Fox was interviewed (President Fox exited the open meeting at 6:32 p.m. for that interview) and that guest James Vestal was interviewed after President Fox re-entered executive session at 7:33 p.m. The board returned to open session at 9:09 p.m.
Following the interviews, Fred Stephenson moved and Stacy King seconded a motion to table consideration of a contract to one of the applicants; the motion carried with a unanimous vote by Acre, Stephenson, King, Kilmer and Fox. The minutes state that no contract was finalized and that the contract consideration was deferred to a future meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 9:11 p.m.
