Lynwood board approves payroll and multiple personnel measures; ordinance given first reading

Trustee Cynthia Eaves moved, and Trustee Rolanda Clark seconded, approval of BPM #1497 for total disbursement of $232,588.06; the Board recorded that $160,571.86 of that total was payroll. The motion carried with all trustees voting aye. Trustee Kirk Marshall then moved to hire Jovani Stanford as a full‑time police officer and separately to hire Steven Douglas as a part‑time officer; both hires were approved unanimously.
Trustee David Lilly moved, seconded by Trustee Rolanda Clark, to approve first reading of Ordinance #24‑14, establishing the Village salary and wage schedule effective May 1, 2024. Attorney Boyle told trustees this ordinance is the annual salary schedule adopted before the Appropriation Ordinance; the first reading passed with no recorded nay votes. The board also approved multiple mayoral appointments and reappointments, including appointing Commander Jessee Hernandez and Deputy Chief John Swanson to the ETSB Board and reappointing Eddie Jones and Michael Murry to the Police Pension Board and Marilyn Mason to the Police and Fire Commission.
