Grant County P&Z recommends approval of water-line and multiple fiber-optic permits

The Grant County Planning & Zoning Board recommended approval to the Grant County Commissioners for multiple utility permits at its June 11 meeting. The permits recommended were UTL-206-004 (applicant Trenton Weekes) to install a new water line; UTL-2026-005 (VantagePoint/Tiffany Sonne/Standing Rock Communications) to install new fiber optic cable within the county right-of-way; UTL-2026-006 (ReadiTech/Billi Jean Portcheller/IIG) to install new fiber optic cable within the county right-of-way; and UTL-2026-007 (ReadiTech/Billi Jean Portsheller/IIG) to install new fiber-optic cable within the county right-of-way including three road crossings.
Motions to recommend approval were made and seconded by board members (recorded movers/seconders include Barb Kraft, Vernon Straub, Matt Hager and AlRoy Hochhalter). The minutes state "all were in favor" and each motion carried. The board's recommendation sends the permits forward to the Grant County Commissioners for final approval.
