Lynwood Fire Department logs 59 calls, schedules open house and fundraiser

Fire Chief LaShaun Alston reported the department logged 59 calls since the last board meeting, including 42 ambulance calls, two accidents with injury, two gas leaks, five assists-invalid, two mutual-aid station coverages, four false alarms, one carbon-monoxide detector activation and one service call.
The department announced an Open House on Oct. 12 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. and a fundraiser softball tournament on Oct. 19 at Dyer Central Park; team entry fee is $250 and proceeds will benefit Fire Buddies. Capt. Heintz was given a tournament contact phone number in the meeting packet.
