The Lynwood Police Department reported 1,108 calls for service since the prior meeting, including 187 traffic stops, 14 arrests, 11 firearms recovered, 481 building checks, nine domestic incidents and 107 ordinance violations.
Police announced a Child Safety Seat campaign running through Sept. 30 and a free Child Car Seat Check on Sept. 18 from 3–6 p.m. at The Children’s Place daycare, 21591 Lincoln Hwy., Lynwood. The department also listed a Cops & Bobbers community event on Sept. 28 (9–11 a.m.) intended to strengthen community relations, and it is accepting applications for new and lateral police officers with applications due Sept. 27; new applicants must have a POWER card issued within the last year.
