USD 422 board rejects plan to add baseball and softball for 2019–20
Summary
A proposal to add baseball and softball to Kiowa County USD 422 for 2019–20, contingent on an agreement with the City of Greensburg and the Greensburg Recreation Commission, failed 3–4 at the March 7 board meeting.
Board member Paul Kendall moved that Unified School District No. 422 add baseball and softball for the 2019–20 school year "contingent upon a mutual consent agreement being achieved between the school district, the City of Greensburg and the Greensburg Recreation Commission." Rosa Spainhour seconded the motion.
The motion failed 3–4. Recorded opposition included President Ki Gamble, Darren McDonald, Tony Rhodes and Cory Zenger. The board did not table or refer the proposal; it was defeated in that vote.
