Committee advances bill to increase sentencing range for second‑degree murder

"It would change currently under, 2nd degree murder... minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 25. As a range 2 offender, it would be a minimum of 25 and a maximum of 40," Crump said.
Members had limited follow‑up. After a question period the committee voted to send House Bill 18 71 to calendar and rules (15 ayes, 0 nos, 3 present not voting).
