Warren County approves resolution to pursue broadband expansion in eastern county

The Warren County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to approve Resolution #2026-02-01, authorizing pursuit of an internet and telecommunications infrastructure project along the county’s eastern portion, including certain areas in the City of Norwood. Chairman John R. Graham outlined that Comcast provides service in Warrenton and the Camak area while Conexon Connect serves the western side; the resolution directs exploration of ways to provide service to remaining unserved areas.
Chairman Graham said the project could be funded initially with SPLOST proceeds or other available funds and that the board would explore reimbursement options such as lease-purchase agreements or alternative financing. The board discussed implementing the project in two phases with a goal to provide internet access to remaining unserved areas within two years. Commissioner Allen L. Troy moved to approve the resolution; the motion passed unanimously.
