District staff reported plans for a short, concentrated summer school session and the district's adoption of new English language arts curriculum materials. Staff said summer school will be held June 22–24 and June 29–July 3 and that classes are grouped by grade bands (for example K–2 and 3–4) so teachers can target fluency or comprehension needs.
“I think we're just under 20 students that are signed up now,” a staff speaker said when asked about enrollment. Staff noted that REAP funds (state or federal) typically support summer programming and that short session length and variable attendance make measurable year‑to‑year assessment of gains difficult.
