Residents and community members raised concerns about siting a proposed athletic complex near homes, emphasizing wetlands, mosquito habitat and parking impacts. One attendee asked whether a wetland report for the field east of the district had been completed; staff said a preliminary report had been exchanged with the district and that full delineation depends on seasonal vegetation.
“Like, based on when the grasses are coming in…they can only do it a certain time of the year,” a staff speaker explained about wetland delineation timing. Mary, speaking as a resident, said the district should consider alternatives to placing the athletic field adjacent to houses and warned, “parking's gonna gonna be a problem.” She also suggested that Jim Flatten might be willing to sell or lease an offsite facility the district could use for buses or other functions.
