The council adopted Ordinance 2026-666 on Jan. 8, 2026, adding language to city code (Part 10, Chapter 4, Section 10-403.A) addressing unlawful possession of controlled dangerous substances other than marijuana. The motion to adopt was made by Mike Carroll and seconded by Damon Lester; the council recorded a unanimous 4-0 vote.
A separate motion to pass an emergency clause for immediate effect was moved by Leland Davis and seconded by Mike Carroll; the emergency clause also carried 4-0. The minutes show the ordinance and emergency clause adopted during the Jan. 8 meeting.
