Board ratifies transit trust fund application, cites purchases to aid seniors

The Warren County Board of Commissioners unanimously ratified the county's FY2026 application to the Georgia Department of Transportation Transit Trust Fund Program at its March 10 meeting.
Chairman John R. Graham said the record shows the county "has been approved to receive additional funding in the amount of $1,880,00" (as stated in the meeting record). Mrs. Brown suggested the board allocate the funds to purchase office chairs and vacuums for transit vans, provide promotional ride time for senior citizens, and buy seat cushions for the vans. Upon board approval, the Transit Director will be responsible for submitting the required documentation to GDOT.
Commissioner Allen L. Troy moved to ratify the Transit Trust Fund Program FY2026 application; Commissioner Richard Burley Jr. seconded and the vote was unanimous. A copy of the approved agreement will be placed in the attachments to the 2026 minutes.
