Weathersfield hires four part-time officers as town restores local policing functions

Town Manager Brandon Gulnick told the Selectboard on June 8 that four part-time officers had been appointed, sworn in and "have assumed their duties and responsibilities — Ian Tuttle, Lee Harrington, Josh Esty, and Derick Beagle." The board heard that the town has reacquired assets from the Windsor County Sheriff's Department and that the loan tied to those assets will be released imminently.
Gulnick said Woodstock Dispatch is now handling 24/7 dispatching for Weathersfield while the town continues to advertise for additional officers and explore an intermunicipal agreement for regional policing. The update was given during the manager’s regular reports and followed questions about how the part-time positions would be adjusted if a full-time officer were hired.
