District reports enrollment increase to 343 and proposes 0.75 FTE teacher split

During the business report, staff told the board that K–12 enrollment for the coming year is 343, up from 331 last year. "As of today, our enrollment for K–12 next year is currently at 343," staff reported, and said the change reflects seniors leaving and new kindergartners and some families moving into the district.
The administration described a consent-agenda contract for Georgia Simon, a long-time educator, to work 0.75 full-time equivalent so the district can split certain classes (third and fifth grades currently about 28–29 students) and better separate 7th and 8th grade instruction. The staffing plan is intended to allow more one-to-one time for students in math and English while the district continues to refine a middle-school schedule.
