Board approves insurance renewal, audit payment, accounting software and budget revisions

The Crazy Horse School Board approved a package of finance items May 27, including a $141,378 commercial insurance renewal, payment of $22,495.20 to Ketel Thorstenson for audit services, and adoption of the Software Unlimited School Accounting System proposal for 2026–2027 with one-time license fees of $6,295 and annual fees of $11,010.
Motion 05-27-26-10 approved the insurance renewal; Motion 05-27-26-11 approved the audit payment; Motion 05-27-26-12 approved the accounting software. All three motions were recorded as passing with affirmative votes from all board members.
The board also approved Motion 05-27-26-13 to adopt 4th Quarter budget modifications across multiple program areas (School Operations K-6 & 7-12, Special Education A, Lakota Language/Bilingual, Food Service, Student Activities, Transportation, Special Education Part B, CHS Quarters, Project AWARE, FACE, and ISEP Administration) and Motion 05-27-26-14 to approve the Preliminary Budget for 2026–2027. Motion 05-27-26-16 approved the Facilities Management Plan as presented.
Administration and the business manager will implement approved changes and bring any required contract documents, vendor invoices, or budget adjustments to the board for routine oversight and record-keeping.
